For years, I resisted going to the gym like a cat resists bath time.
I convinced myself that working out at home was “just as good.” Yeah right. That’s like saying gas station sushi is just as good as the real deal.
But here’s the thing about working out alone—you only push yourself as far as feels comfortable. You do just enough to say you showed up. Then you pat yourself on the back and call it a day.
That’s exactly what I was doing until I walked into EOS Fitness and saw their challenge board.
Game. Changer.
There’s something different about seeing other people’s numbers staring you in the face.
Suddenly, my “good enough” wasn’t good enough anymore. Without the leaderboard, I would have no idea how close I was to the top spot.
I wasn’t miles behind. I was inches away. Just a little more effort, a few extra reps, a slight tweak in my strategy—and I could take the lead.
That’s the magic of competition. It wakes you up. It reminds you what you’re capable of. It forces you to go that extra mile (literally).
It’s not about beating others – it’s about pushing yourself a little more because you can. It’s proving to yourself what you’re capable of.
And you know what? That’s exactly what building a business is like.
You can try to go it alone—convince yourself that Googling answers at 2 AM and binge-watching business podcasts is “just as good” as being part of a community. But nothing pushes you harder than surrounding yourself with other ambitious entrepreneurs who inspire you to do more, dream bigger, and take bolder action.
P.S. This is another reason why I created The Extraordinary Entrepreneur Community. It’s like the gym, but for business—except you won’t have to fight anyone for a treadmill.
If you’re tired of doing this business thing solo and want to surround yourself with people who make you want to level up, come join us. Your next win might be closer than you think.
